Zenit swoop for Alves
Defender Bruno Alves has joined Zenit Saint-Petersburg from Portuguese giants FC Porto.
The Portugal international, who has won 35 caps for his country, arrives at Zenit for ?22million (£18.2m).
Alves, who came through the youth system at Porto, is yet to sign a contract at the Russian outfit as he first has to undergo a medical.
The 28-year-old won four successive league titles with Porto after signing a professional deal in 2001 and was named Portuguese player of the year for the 2008-09 season.
He also spent time on loan at Farense, Vitoria Guimaraes and Greek giants AEK Athens.
