Antonio Cassano's time at Sampdoria is up after the club applied for a contract rescission, according to the ANSA press agency.
Cassano has already been frozen out of the squad following his outburst against club president Riccardo Garrone. Samp confirmed on Friday that they would impose sanction on the player, but no one expected their move to oust him.
Sources close to the club have confirmed that they have already started proceedings to rescind his contract by sending a memo to the Lega Serie A's arbitration panel.
Garrone himself told ANSA there would be a strict press silence until the Lega reaches its decision.
"There is a press silence until the meeting with the arbitration panel of the Lega," he said.
Cassano is alleged to have insulted Garrone with foul language in front of the team during training earlier this week.
Their conflict sparked after Garrone expressed his disappointment with Cassano because he skipped a club event which he was expected to attend.
