Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009

The premiere of "V" on ABC Tuesday drew very solid ratings, taking a bite out of Tuesday juggernaut "NCIS'" usual numbers and beating the CBS show in the adults 18-49 demographic.

That said, "NCIS" still led "V" head-to-head in viewers, and CBS' greater depth won the night with 15.55 million viewers and a 9.8 rating/16 share in households. ABC came in second with just over 12 million viewers and a 7.6/12. NBC (8 million, 5.0/8) took third, ahead of FOX (6.1 million, 3.8/6). The CW scored 1.8 million viewers and a 1.3/2.

CBS led the adults 18-49 demo as well with a 3.4 rating, just beating ABC's 3.3. NBC was not far behind at 3.0. FOX averaged 2.4 in the demo and The CW 0.9.
