Soldado Appreciates Opportunity, But Wants MoreYoung Real Madrid striker Roberto Soldado earned yet another substitute appearance tonight against Espanyol, declaring himself hungry for more action...
The former Osasuna loanee told RealMadrid.com, "I want to contribute my little share."
Having taken part in few matches this season, the striker is eager to take action where he can find it.
"In truth, the situation I'm undergoing isn't what any player would like, but it's nice that the fans remember me despite my not having played in so long," he explained.
"This encourages me to fight on and to seek new opportunities."
He continued, "The longer you have to play, the more you have to prove your worth. So, the more I play, the better for myself.
"I want to score a goal, and today I almost did so. I believe that everyone shares my desire for me to score.
"The least that I can do in my position is to show to the boss that I'm eager, I can use my time well when given it, and I'll contribute my little bit to the team."
The Spanish internation forward concluded, "Among the players there is a great atmosphere and that's a positive for those of us who play less: our peers encourage is, and it's comforting.
"Schuster spoke with me, as with all my colleagues. He gave me encouragement and such dialogue is welcome, and the advice he gives me, even though I play few minutes."
