Newcastle have confirmed that defender Steven Taylor is likely to miss the rest of the season.

Taylor sustained an Achilles injury during Newcastle's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday and there were fears the problem would be serious in the aftermath.

Having undergone tests, it has now been announced that he will undergo surgery and is unlikely to play again in the current campaign.

A club spokesman said: "Steven sustained an Achilles injury yesterday at the end of our game with Chelsea. After medical assessment, he will be having surgery tomorrow and it is likely he will be out for the rest of the season."

Fellow centre-back Fabricio Coloccini also limped off during the defeat to Chelsea as he suffered a thigh strain and he could miss the trip to Norwich on Saturday.

s.taylor 證實收咧，coloccini 就要抖一至兩星期。

失四球除左第三球係 gosling 交失波送禮之外，其餘三球都係死球唔夠對手頂，5' 8" 就算企岩位都無可能夠六呎以上既頂啦係嘛？你數下英超有邊個中堅係 5'8"架？
