Arsène Wenger: 'We wanted to win until the last second'
on Manchester United...
"Man United played well, they scored a great goal, I think they wanted so much to kill the tie that it turned against them as well. They lost a little bit of their game - Van der Sar going from right to left, left to right - and in the end it turned against them."
on his side's performance...
"I felt we started a nervous, you know, and gave them a bit of respect, and it took us time to get into the game really. In the first half I felt that Man United was a little bit more mature than we were, we gave them too much space. In the second half straight away we took over and it was all us, and on the break they scored. Then it was a test of character, resilience, togetherness, and qualities that are very important for the development of the team. And I believe that we went on until the end because we wanted to win, really to win until the last second, and in the last twenty minutes it was all us."
on the Premiership race...
"Well it will open it up for everybody, for us a little bit less than Liverpool - but, you never know. I feel with ten minutes to go Man United were certainly, maybe champions, but at the end of the game you cannot say that now, it's more open again. It's good that we are one-nil down at the Emirates and we can win, and it's good for the interest of the Premiership because everybody still has a chance. Maybe we have less than the others but we'll fight for every game now and just try to win every game."
on the equaliser...
"It was a great goal because first of all, Fabregas and Rosicky fight like mad on the side to get the ball. Then we get the ball in and Robin comes from a very, very deep position, and scores an unbelievable goal. But he can deliver that."
on an injury to Van Persie...
"We have a big worry with Robin van Persie on his ankle. He has an x-ray now and if we have any news I will inform you. It's not the same at all it's a completely different injury [sustained] when he celebrated the goal."
on Walcott's omission from the squad...
"He will play against Spurs but I needed a midfielder, that's why I put Denilson in instead of him. "
