The Cavaliers have officially sent shooting guard Dion Waiters to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the teams announced Monday.
In exchange for Waiters, the Thunder sent a protected first-round pick in the 2015 draft and Lance Thomas, who is averaging 5.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, to the New York Knicks. The Cavs received guards Iman Shumpert, who is averaging 9.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, and J.R. Smith, who is averaging 10.9 points and 3.4 assists, in return while the Knicks acquired Lou Amundson and Alex Kirk.
Waiters is averaging 10.5 points and 2.2 assists in 33 games for Cleveland.
