PSG are negotiating with Real Madrid for the transfer of Angel Di Maria,
although the French side need to sell before they can by in order to abide by Financial Fair Play, according to L'Equipe today.

Should the signing materialise, PSG will need to cough up more than ?50m,
meaning at least one member of their current first team squad will have to go in order to raise the funds as they look to comply with the UEFA sanction placed upon them.

Di Maria, who is 26 and still has three years remaining on his Madrid deal is thought to be "one of the main priorities" of manager Laurent Blanc,
and initial negotiations have seen the player offered a contract worth around ?8m per season,
which would be a significant improvement on his current Madrid deal, which is worth less than ?5m per season.

The Argentina international is determined to leave Madrid, because he was not happy at being benched in the first half of last season
and wants to play in a more advanced position, according to the French newspaper.

L'Equipe say that Real Madrid are resigned to losing the player, but it all depends on PSG's ability to sell,
with names like Javier Pastore, Lucas, Marco Verratti, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani linked to moves away from the French capital.

PSG also face a similar dilemma with Ivorian fullback Serge Aurier of Toulouse.

Angel di Maria losing patience with PSG
The Real Madrid player, according to French radio station RMC, has asked Al-Khelaifi (PSG President) to move the deal forward or he will speak to Manchester United.



Di Maria is still on holiday, but is losing patience over the fact his transfer from Real Madrid to PSG still hasn’t been finalised,
despite the fact he has, in principle, a deal with them for next season.
The Paris based club is still dealing with the effects of the Financial Fair Play rules
and cannot spend 60 million euros to bring in the Argentine, without first offloading one of their current stars.
Di Maria, according to French radio station RMC, has asked Al-Khelaifi (PSG President) to move the deal forward,
or he will start talking to his other suitor, Manchester United.

The Red Devils have the financial muscle to pull off the deal, but haven’t offered Di Maria the eight million euros net a season PSG have tempted the player with,
because it would throw their salary structure into disarray. Di Maria is convinced his transfer won’t turn into a terrible, long drawn out affair,
with the possibility of having to return to Madrid on 5 August. But to make sure he’s pressuring PSG into reaching a solution.

Angel di Maria's days at Real Madrid are numbered.

PSG are set to pay Real Madrid ?65 million for Di Maria, making him the club's most expensive sale ever,
outstripping the ?50m Arsenal paid for Mesut Ozil last year.
The silky left-footer will put pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Parc des Princes,
with a salary of ?8 million after tax per season - almost double what he earns at 'Los Blancos'.
This is a big step up financially for the Argentine, who would have been hard-pressed to negotiate a similar contract at Real.

Real's third departure
Di Maria will be following Alvaro Morata and Casemiro out of the Real exit door.
PSG want the Argentine to report for duty by 5th August,
the day when he would otherwise have been expected back at the Bernabeu, where he will be sorely missed by coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Di Maria close to PSG move

Paris Saint-Germain are finalising a deal for Angel Di Maria,


with a decision to be made in the coming hours over whether he will move permanently or on an initial loan.

The French champions are weighing up the option of paying the figure demanded by Real Madrid (around 60 million euros), but will have to sell first in order to do so.

Meanwhile, the Ligue 1 side are also considering a 10-million-euro loan deal, which would include the option to complete a permanent transfer next season.

In any event, PSG must lighten their wage bill. The Financial Fair Play sanctions handed to the club by UEFA, European football's governing body,

clearly specify that they cannot exceed their salary costs from last season.

Sources close to the negotiations insist that Di Maria’s departure to Paris is certain to go ahead, despite Carlo Ancelotti recommending ‘El Fideo’ remain at the Santiago Bernabeu.
