Premier League: Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger set to recall Alexis Sanchez
Arsene Wenger is ready to throw Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez straight back into the side as they look to bounce back from a derby day defeat at Tottenham with victory over Leicester on Tuesday night. The Gunners were beaten 2-1 at White Hart Lane on Saturday, with Harry Kane scoring both of Spurs’ goal after Mesut Ozil had scored the opening goal after 11 minutes.
Arsenal are now in sixth place and despite not risking Sanchez against Tottenham because of a hamstring strain,
Wenger is set to recall him in midweek, although midfielder Alex Oxlade Chamberlain will not feature due to a groin problem.
"Chamberlain is out, the only one who has a chance to be on the bench or to start maybe is Sanchez," said Wenger.Wenger has demanded a much improved display after his side slipped to defeat after recording five straight wins in all competitions.
"It is not the first time we lose a game, but how we bounce back is to take the information from what we got at Tottenham, and respond very quickly on Tuesday," added Wenger.
"It is disappointing because we did fight hard together, but we made too many technical mistakes.
"We lost too many balls in situations where we could have put Tottenham in trouble.
"What is funny is that every time we arrived in their final third we looked like we could score a goal, but we didn't do it enough."
