Juventus are continuing to monitor Emre Can’s situation at Liverpool with a view to signing him on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer, according to Sky in Italy.

Can, who can sign a pre-contract agreement with a European club next month, said in October that it is "always an honour to receive an offer from such a renowned club".

The 23-year-old Germany international has been an instrumental part of Liverpool's season so far, scoring four goals in 23 appearances from midfield, but he has not agreed a new contract with the club.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted he will not put pressure on Can to recommit, stating in November that "we have to respect his contract is ending and that's how it is".

But the German also said he would welcome the player signing a new contract at the end of the season.

Can joined Liverpool in a £10m deal from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 and he has made over 100 appearances since, scoring 12 goals in all competitions.

Juventus are in advanced talks to sign Liverpool's Emre Can in the summer, according to Sky in Italy.

The 23-year-old Germany midfielder is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club, having entered the last six months of his contract at Anfield.

Italian champions Juve have been pursuing Can for some time but Sky Germany understand he will not leave the Merseyside club in the January transfer window.

Emre Can has chosen to join Juventus this summer after his contract with Liverpool expires, according to @DiMarzio.

It is not a crazy move for January but a big one for June as Emre Can of Liverpool has chosen Juventus. Positive conversations between the player's agent and the bianconeri in the last hours have taken place the decision is by now made. The German will officially sign once he is permitted to, but it seems like everything is almost finalized. In the coming days we will see if Liverpool will be willing to let the player go now since they are going to lose him, but it is a very difficult hypothesis. One thing is for sure though, Emre Can has chosen Juventus.
