Valencia keen on Deportivo La Coruna's Andres Guardado - reportThe Mexico international is eager to move on following Depor's relegation and Valencia are closely monitoring his situation
Versatile winger Andres Guardado appears to be on his way out of relegated La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna as Champions League hopefuls Valencia have shown an interest in signing the Mexico international, Marca reports. The Mestalla club are in the market for a new left-sided player because of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of Jeremy Mathieu, who has been linked with a move back to France, and head coach Unai Emery sees Guardado as the perfect replacement.
The 24-year-old winger joined Deportivo from Atlas in the summer of 2007 and has since made over 100 official appearances for the La Coruna outfit, mainly playing in an attacking position, but has also featured as a wing-back.
His current contract at the Riazor runs until the summer of 2012, but the cash-strapped Galician side are ready to cash in on the player if a good offer were to arrive.
Aside from Valencia,
Portuguese titans Benfica are also keeping tabs on Guardado, as they prepare for life after Fabio Coentrao, who appears to be on his way to Real Madrid. http://www.goal.com/en/news/12/spain/2011/06/08/2523051/valencia-keen-on-deportivo-la-corunas-andres-guardado-report
