整個夏天，史奈達的名字只曾與曼聯、曼城及車路士3間英超豪門扯上關係，「新Big 4」之中唯獨欠了阿仙奴，不過在法比加斯及拿斯尼相繼做了「逃兵」後，阿仙奴終於與史奈達的名字勾掛了。
在史奈達的轉會傳聞中，曼城及車路士已雙雙退出，而且上周傳出國際米蘭已經接受曼聯報價，史奈達更為了入「魔」而願意大幅將薪酬要求降低，國米及球員正等待「紅魔鬼」的最新報價，預期新報價送抵米蘭後，這宗交易就會火速拍板得到落實。
不過史奈達入「魔」之事又再出現新變數了，周三成功躋身歐聯小組賽力保至少3,000萬鎊收入，加上出售「雙斯」後獲得的大筆轉會費後，阿仙奴有資金也有必要的情況下，已把目光鎖定在史奈達的身上。
意大利媒體指國米方面沒有改變出售史奈達的想法，只是未知荷蘭人最終是否加盟曼聯還是投奔急需強援的阿仙奴。

Sebastian Coates is due on Merseyside on Friday ahead of his ?7.9 million move to Liverpool from Nacional.

The Reds had an offer for the highly rated Uruguayan defender accepted on Wednesday and the player's father and agent have been in Liverpool discussing personal terms with director of football Damien Comolli.

The talks are described by insiders as “a formality” and the 20-year-old will undergo a medical over the weekend and sign a contract to complete the switch subject to a work permit application.

Coates has not reached the appearance criteria to automatically qualify for a work permit but his highly impressive performances during Uruguay's Copa America triumph earlier this summer mean he is expected to be granted special dispensation. He was named as the best young player in the tournament.

He is expected to be Liverpool's last major signing of the summer as he joins fellow new boys Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Jose Enrique at Anfield.

Coates, who has also been linked with Manchester City, will fill the void in the squad left by the departure of Sotiros Kyrgiakos to Wolfsburg. He will become the second Uruguayan to play for Liverpool when he joins international team-mate Luis Suarez at the club.

The 6ft 5in defender is likely to be available to make his Liverpool debut away at Stoke City on September 10.

The defender also parted with a farewell message for Nacional's fans ahead of his proposed move to Anfield.

"For the fans I can only give words of gratitude, they have always treated me fantastically and supported me in the hardest times," he told the club's official website.

"I will wear the Nacional jersey again, however, and I hope when this happens I get the same great backing."

Yago joins on loan

We are delighted to announce the signing of Yago Falque on a season-long loan from Juventus.

The Spain Under-21 attacking midfielder, a European Under-17 Championship winner with Spain in 2007, joined Juventus from Barcelona in August, 2008 and spent last season on loan at Spanish second division side Villareal B where he scored 11 goals in 36 games.

Gibson's Villa move in doubt after United midfielder ruled out for a month

Darron Gibson's chances of a move to Aston Villa have been hit by an ankle ligament injury.

The Manchester United midfielder is out for a month after injuring the ankle in training.

United's Tom Thorpe, 18, is wanted on a six-month loan by Scunthorpe.

KEAN WAITS ON IBISEVIC DEAL

Blackburn boss Steve Kean has given Hoffenheim striker Vedad Ibisevic a 24-hour deadline to decide on a move to Ewood Park.

A fee has been agreed with Hoffenheim for Ibisevic with personal terms also close to being settled.

However, there are concerns over the striker's fitness with the Bosnian struggling with injuries over the last couple of seasons.

Kean is hoping to do a deal for the front-man, but is lining up a swoop for out-of-favour Ajax forward Mounir El Hamdaoui if the move for Ibisevic fails to happen.

"We've got permission to talk to him," Kean said of Ibisevic. "We're trying to get personal terms agreed and then accelerate it to a medical.

"He had a very good record until his first knee injury. Then since then he's had another little injury.

"He's not played as much recently. But before all that he'd had a very good goalscoring record.

"If it doesn't get done today then we'll probably move on to the other one. I had a good meeting with the other player and he's a player that will move on if not to us then to another big club in Europe. It was a good meeting.

"It won't be both though. We are looking at one of the two.

"We need someone with a track record of scoring goals. You look for someone with a goal every two games then you look at all the different markets for that."

Juventus reach agreement with Catania for Sergio Almiron - agent

Catania have reached a deal with Juventus to sign Sergio Almiron, according to the player’s agent.

The midfielder is surplus to requirements with the Old Lady and has been looking for a move all summer and it seems a transfer to Catania should be completed in the next few days.

“There is an agreement between Juventus and Catania, now there will be a meeting to finalise the players transfer to Sicily,” agent Claudio Vagheggi told Sportitalia.

The 30-year-old joined the Bianconeri in 2007 but has failed to win a regular place in the side and has found himself on loan to the likes of Monaco and Fiorentina.

He was most recently with Bari, who had signed him on a co-ownership deal, as part of Leonardo Bonucci's move to Turin, but Juventus paid ?2.5 million for his remain portion of his rights this summer.
