Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has hit out at Barry Ferguson for slapping Laurent Koscielny following Birmingham City's winning goal in the League Cup final. The incident occurred following the mix-up between the French defender and young 'keeper Wojciech Szczesny, which allowed Blues striker Obafemi Martins to tap home an easy winner in the 89th minute.
Nineteen-year-old Wilshere, a full England international, tweeted: "Well done to the BCFC player who slapped Koscielny on the head when they scored, very big of you!"
Pictures clearly show that the player in question is Birmingham's former Rangers midfielder Ferguson, and he and Wilshere had a coming together in injury time as the match slipped away from Arsene Wenger's side.
Birmingham emerged victorious at Wembley thanks to goals from towering striker Nikola Zigic and the on-loan Martins, while Arsenal's solitary strike came from Robin van Persie.
