Soldado: Play Me Or I Will Leave
Roberto Soldado has stated that if he is not given a chance at Real Madrid before the winter transfer window opens then he will leave in the New Year.
The 22-year-old striker returned from a successful loan spell at Osasuna and opted to remain at the Bernabéu and fight for a place rather than move on over the summer.
Having not played in the first two games of the season, Soldado is beginning to wonder if he will remain on the bench all season and, if that looks likely, will cut his losses in six months time.
"If we reach December and I have not played at all, then it would be better if I left after six months of not playing rather than 12," he said.
"I am not saying when I should play before then, but if I am not happy then I will say to the club that I want to start looking for a new team.
"At the moment, I am focussing on that, I am only concentrating on staying.
"I have taken a risky decision, but my first thoughts are to be successful here and to stay next year.
"Right now it is difficult to edge anyone out from the team, but there are many weeks when we will be playing twice and it will be hard to keep that going.
"I think that everyone will have their chance and, hopefully, every time Ruud (Van Nistelrooy) does not play then I will.
"Being slightly egotisitical, I think it is better for me that Ruud has gone back to his national team as he will be tired when he returns.
"It is down to the coach though and I just have to wait for my chance."
Soldado is desperate to earn a recall to the Spain squad, but knows that he will have to playing regularly to attract Luis Aragonés' interest again.
"Going to play for the national team is a prize that I can earn by working hard with Real Madrid," he explained.
Finally, the Madrid striker reflected on the impact that Thierry Henry is having at rivals FC Barcelona and explained that he does not agree that the French star is likely to upset the squad.
"I do not think he will be a problematic player and I am sure that Barça will benefit from having him," he added.
"They may have not started as well as they would have liked, but they can only improve."
不過暫時都幾難有機會
