Originally from the musical Carousel and later a hit for Gerry and the Pacemakers, the Kop have been singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' since the 60's.

You'll never walk Alone在1945年由Richard Rodgers及Oscar Hammerstein為其音樂劇"Carousel"所創作的。其後在1960年代由利物浦市組合 Gerry and the Pacemakers 灌唱片，Liverpool 球隊亦在這個年代初重返英格蘭甲組聯賽。
據說那時這首歌很流行，球場在開賽前會播放這首歌，有一次球場廣播並沒播放這首歌，球迷們便自發起來高唱這首歌，漸漸地球迷便高唱它為 Liverpool 球員打氣。這樣，You'll never walk alone 和 Liverpool 伴在一起，便成為Liverpool 球會的「會歌」。
這首歌亦廣泛傳送到Celtic 和 Ajax，兩會的球迷亦會唱這首歌。當然啦，沒有其他英格蘭球會球迷會唱這首歌啦!
