漢堡後衛艾圖巴因傷無法在週三主場出戰阿仙奴的歐聯賽事中上陣。

而另一位左後衛，剛加盟不久的蘇連亦因傷無法上陣。

然而新加盟的荷蘭中堅馬菲遜及比利時後衛甘賓尼則可以候命。

漢堡將在週三主場出戰阿仙奴，後者上週只能在主場跟米杜士堡踢成 1-1 平手。

同日G 組將會有波圖主場出戰莫斯科中央陸軍。

Henry ruled out of Group G opener in Hamburg

Thierry Henry will not play in Arsenal's Group G opener against Hamburg on Wednesday night.

The captain sustained a minor foot injury during a training session on Tuesday morning and will not travel to Germany for the Champions League game.

Arsène Wenger has named an 18-man squad for Wednesday's match. Theo Walcott returns after being rested for Saturday's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough while Jens Lehmann is available having served a two-match suspension in European competition.

Wenger - Why I haven't played Flamini at left back

Left back has become the most difficult position for Arsene Wenger to fill.

With Ashley Cole gone and Gael Clichy still six weeks away from fitness, Arsene Wenger used right back Justin Hoyte in the role until William Gallas took over the reigns on Saturday.

However, given his fine form in the Champions League last season, it is a surprise that Mathieu Flamini has not been asked to fill in. The answer is simple.

“He is unhappy at left back,” explained Wenger. “He is not comfortable there. For me it was a good experience but he does not feel comfortable in that role.”

"Thierry is not playing against Hamburg," confirmed Arsène Wenger. "We gave him an injection on Saturday and he will only be out for a short time, two or three days. But we have a big squad and in the short term we can cope without him."
