Melo miffed at Meireles reports

Midfielder Felipe Melo is unhappy at reports that Juventus have offered him as part of a bid to sign Liverpool's Raul Meireles.

The Anfield club have already landed Jordan Henderson this summer and are expected to complete a deal for Blackpool captain Charlie Adam.

Less than a year after his £10million arrival from Porto, Meireles could consequently be sacrificed in order to make room in Kenny Dalglish's squad.

Liverpool are said to have told Juventus that they can have the Portugal playmaker for £13m, and the Italian club are understood to be prepared to offer Melo and cash.

The defensively-minded Brazilian has been linked with Arsenal in the past, but he is disappointed at suggestions he could be a makeweight in any Meireles move.

"Let us say that Juve are not respecting me, or at least that's the impression I get," he is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror.

"I'm not just anyone. I'm not a bargaining chip to be used."

Emmanuel Adebayor could be set to leave Manchester City in the summer transfer window as Ligue 1 giants Olympique de Marseille have shown an interest in signing the striker, L'Equipe reports.

OM are keen to strengthen their front line and had initially set their sights on Fiorentina's Alberto Gilardino, but the Italy international reportedly would prefer to stay in Italy, prompting the French side to turn their attention to Adebayor.

The 27-year-old spent the past six months of the 2010-11 season on loan at Real Madrid, but the Copa del Rey winners have decided not to execute their option to make Adebayor's stay at Santiago Bernabeu permanent.

The former Arsenal man appears to be surplus to requirements at Eastlands, and is widely expected to leave the club on a permanent basis this summer.

The forward dismissed a potential move to Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg earlier this week, but could be open to a return to France, having previously played for Metz and Monaco before moving to Arsenal in January 2006.

Atletico Madrid set sights on Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi as Sergio Aguero replacement - report

Atleti are resigned to losing Aguero this summer and are aiming high in their search for a replacement as they have set their sights on the Italian

Atletico Madrid are considering making a move for Villarreal attacker Giuseppe Rossi as they prepare for life after Sergio Aguero, AS reports.

Aguero revealed last month that he wants to leave the Vicente Calderon in the summer transfer window, and has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Juventus.

The capital club are desperate to sign a high-profile name to replace the Argentine international and see Rossi as the perfect alternative.

The 24-year-old initially appeared to be on his way to Champions League winners Barcelona this summer, but rumours of a move to Camp Nou have waned as the Catalans have now turned their attention to Udinese's Alexis Sanchez.

Therefore, Atletico feel they have a realistic chance of luring Rossi to the Spanish capital next season, and are willing to pay up to ?30 million for the Italian.

Rossi would follow in the footsteps of Diego Forlan if the transfer materialises, as the Uruguay international departed El Madrigal for Atleti in the summer of 2007.
