Guti Slams Pitch And Referee Guti was unhappy with both the pitch and the referee after Real Madrid's 2-0 defeat to Almeria.
Almeria had their pitch watered before the game, as is often the practice in football, but the amount of moidture that was left on the pitch did not please Real Madrid.
The likes of Cannavaro, Robinho and Guti all slipped a few times, and they were clearly displeased after the game.
"The pitch was a bit hard and very wet, so our shoes didn't grab hold well," they said.
He also had some suggestions for the referee, who booked players for protesting, in particular Iker Casillas for running the length of the pitch at one point.
Four Real Madrid players, including Guti himself, were booked during the game, and the Spaniard believes cards were dished out for the wrong reasons.
"Referee's should focus more on football itself than on what someone says to them or gestures players make," he said.
"There were several bookings they shouldn't have made tonight. They shouldn't be so strict."
Finally, he looked forward to the home game against Valladolid next week.
"I would have liked to win because we were having a great streak, but you can't win all the time," he said. "I can't wait to play and win our next game, which will take place at home."
