Walker out of England U21 squad
Spurs right-back suffers hip problemLast Updated: August 31, 2011 3:08pm
Defender Kyle Walker has withdrawn from the England Under 21 squad for Thursday's European Championship qualifier with Azerbaijan.
The Tottenham right-back has returned to his club with a hip injury and will not feature in the match at Vicarage Road or Monday's friendly against Israel.
Danny Welbeck, Emmanuel Frimpong and Martin Kelly have already left the squad because of injuries as Stuart Pearce prepares for the international double-header.
Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran and Aston Villa defender Nathan Baker are also carrying knocks ahead of Thursday's game.
Pearce said: "We've just lost Kyle Walker. Two of them have got slight little niggles, Josh McEachran and Nathan Baker, so we're going to sit on them until Thursday before we make a final decision on those two."
Pearce also confirmed new Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson would captain the side in the absence of Phil Jones, who was called into the senior squad for the Euro 2012 double-header with Bulgaria and Wales.
