Hoffenheim star badly hurt in crash

Hoffenheim midfielder Boris Vukcevic is in a critical condition in hospital after being involved in a major car accident, the German SWR radio station has reported.
Vukcevic, 22, reportedly lost control of his car near Bammental, in Baden-Wuerttemberg, and crashed into a truck coming into the opposite direction. The truck driver escaped with minor injuries, but Vukcevic was rushed to a Heidelberg hospital.
Hoffenheim confirmed to Bild.de that Vukcevic had been involved in a major car accident.
Vukcevic, born in Osijek, Croatia, came through the Stuttgart youth academy and moved to Hoffenheim in 2008.
He has featured in every match for Hoffenheim this season, and scored in their 5-3 defeat against Freiburg. In total, he has played 78 Bundesliga matches for Hoffenheim, scoring six goals, and has also played six times for Germany's Under-21 team.
