UEFA suspend sanctions for Malaga, next year’s ban still applies

European football’s governing body, UEFA announced on Wednesday morning that all sanctions pertaining to financial issues and non-payment of debts has been suspended, but their one-year ban will remain unless otherwise overturned by the Court of Arbitration of Sport on June 4^th.

UEFA released a statement stating that Malaga “fulfilled all conditions” that had been imposed, adding another positive element in their hopes of having their one-year ban overturned.
“The report of the CFCB investigatory chamber further confirms that the clubs Malaga CF (ESP), HNK Hajduk Split (CRO), NK Osijek (CRO), FC Dinamo Bucureşti (ROU), FK Partizan (SRB), and FK Vojvodina (SRB) have fulfilled all conditions imposed by the CFCB and therefore all suspended sanctions that had been imposed will not apply.”Malaga added that this decision will only aid them in their pursuit of European football next season.

“Malaga had two punishments. One was fixed and the other was suspended. We are appealing the fixed ban at the CAS, and the suspended sanction is the one that has been lifted.”
