suffered a "first degree tear in his left hamstring".Although no recovery time was specified by the club,
such injuries commonly take up to 15 days to heal. The news will come as a blow to coach Carlo Ancelotti who already has versatile full-back Alvaro Arbeloa sidelined with a knee injury.
The nine-time European champions host Dortmund at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday with the return leg in Germany to follow next Tuesday.
