Former Stoke and Aston Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has signed a two-year deal with Australian side Melbourne City. The ex-Denmark international was a free agent after his deal at the Britannia Stadium ended when last season finished.
Sorensen first came to England in 1998 when he signed for Sunderland from Odense.
He went on to play over 350 Premier League matches and played for the Danes at World Cups in 2002 and 2010 as well as the 2004 European Championships.
Now 39, Sorensen is A-League outfit Melbourne's ninth signing of the summer and he is targeting silverware with his new club.
"When this opportunity came up there was no hesitation because it's an ambitious club," Sorensen said.
"I think for the club and for me personally the aim is to get to the top. We obviously want to win the championship and the cup and that's one of the reasons why I wanted to come.
"Hopefully I can use my experience to get the club where it wants to go. I'm here to do my utmost. I'm really looking forward to it, it's a fantastic challenge."
