Manchester United legend Paul Scholes rolled back the years in a Hong Kong charity match on Friday with a trademark long-range screamer.Playing for a Premier League XI including Emmanuel Petit, Claude Makelele, Robert Pires, Darren Anderton and Robbie Fowler, Scholes scored a stunning effort from 35 yards out. Receiving the ball in a central position mid-way through the opposition half, the former England player thumped a first-time strike which nestled in the bottom right hand corner of the net.Liverpool legend Fowler also scored a trademark strike with a superb curling free-kick bent into the top corner.
The Premier League All-Stars won 5-4.
Scholes' vicious finish brought back memories of some of the best long-range efforts in his 20 years at Old Trafford.
The 40-year-old made a name for himself in scoring goals from distance, with one of his most famous coming against Bradford City at Valley Parade in March 2000.
Matt Clarke was the unlucky goalkeeper on that occasion as he was left stranded in the 71st minute by a Scholes volley.
Team-mate David Beckham had spotted the England star lurking at the edge of the penalty area as he prepared to take a corner-kick, and his lofted delivery was met ferociously by Scholes' right boot and was drilled into the bottom left corner of the Bradford goal.
