Leicester City have reached an agreement with Nice captain Nampalys Mendy over a four-year deal. The 23-year-old was in Leicester on Monday to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms, which French newspaper L'Equipe believe have now been finalised.However, the transfer is not yet complete, with Nice and City still deliberating over the final details of Mendy's switch. T he extended negotiations are not expected to hinder the transfer, with an agreement anticipated to be struck within a few days.
Reports of a late £11.5million West Ham bid are also unlikely to affect City's plans as Mendy has his heart set on a move to the Premier League champions. "Leicester is a club that perfectly fits Papy and his values," an unnamed advisor to the midfielder is quoted as saying in L'Equipe.
"No matter which clubs come forward in the coming days, Papy will still go to Leicester."
The report also reiterates that Mendy is not signing for City as a replacement for star midfielder N'Golo Kante, linked with a summer move to some of Europe's biggest clubs, with manager Claudio Ranieri planning to play the French pair together.
