Wolves are hoping to push through a Deadline Day move for Anderlecht captain Leander Dendoncker.

The Belgian international, who has six caps to his name, has emerged as a late transfer target for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Wanderers have earmarked the 23-year-old as a possible addition due to his comfort in both central midfield and at the heart of defence - both positions in which Wolves are still looking to strengthen.

Wolves know that they must move quickly and Mirror Sport understands the club are hoping to tie up a move for a fee in the region of £12million.

According to reports in his homeland from HLN, Dendoncker is on his way to the West Midlands, with his agent, for negotiations.

He only returned to training with his club on Monday, following his World Cup participation.

And while he has three years remaining on his deal at the Constant Vanden Stock, he is keen to finalise a move to the Premier Leaguee having seen a January move to West Ham fall through.

Wolves are on the verge of signing Leander Dendoncker from Anderlecht.

The midfielder, 23, is set to have a medical and then complete a transfer before Thursday's 17:00 BST deadline.

Dendoncker, rated in the £12m bracket, played for Belgium against England in the group stage at the World Cup.

He would become Wolves' sixth signing since promotion from the Championship in May - following Adama Traore, Rui Patricio, Jonny Castro Otto, Joao Moutinho and Raul Jimenez.

Dendoncker joined Anderlecht as a youth player in 2009 and has made 171 appearances for the club, scoring 11 times and providing four assists.

He has played six times for Belgium, having made his international debut in 2015.

Wolves have completed the deadline day signing of Belgium international Leander Dendoncker from Anderlecht.

The midfielder, who can also be used in defence, completed his medical at Compton Park on Thursday and has signed an initial season-long loan, which will become a permanent move next summer.

The move to Molineux comes after the 23-year-old was part of the Belgium squad which finished third at the World Cup this summer.
