Barcelona have reached an agreement with Thierry Henry allowing the striker to leave the club.
The 32-year-old forward has long been linked with a move to America, where Major League Soccer outfit New York Red Bulls are favourites to land his signature.
Henry, who moved to Camp Nou from Arsenal for ?24million in 2007, has not produced his form of old during his time in Spain and is not in manager Pep Guardiola's plans for next season.
He was not regarded as first choice last term as Barca once more clinched the Primera Liga title ahead of rivals Real Madrid.
Henry's contract was due to run until June 2011 but a deal has been reached allowing the Frenchman to depart Catalonia.
Barcelona director general Joan Oliver said: "It was a special position with the player and we have accepted.
"For Barca it is not a bad agreement because we avoid paying him next season."
Henry has just endured a torrid World Cup campaign with France, and the former Gunner is now expected to move on to pastures new.
