Manchester City striker Kelvin Etuhu on assault charge
Manchester City forward Kelvin Etuhu has been charged with assault after three people were hurt at a casino.
The 22-year-old, who was born in Nigeria, was arrested after police were called to reports of a disturbance at Manchester 235 Casino in February.
Two men, aged 24 and 26, and a 23-year-old woman were injured.Mr Etuhu, who spent last season on loan at Cardiff City, has been charged with assault and will appear before magistrates on 6 August.
The decision was announced by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Tuesday.
Another man, Rico Richards, 27, of Peel Grove, Longsight, Manchester has been charged in connection with the incident.
Both men face charges of section 18 assault (wounding) and section 47 assault (assault occasioning actual bodily harm).
After emerging through the club's academy, Mr Etuhu made his first senior appearance in September 2007 during a Carling Cup fixture.
He spent one period on loan at Leicester City and in August 2009 was loaned to Cardiff City to help their promotion push.
Despite the loan spells, the forward has made 10 Premier League appearances for City.
