Newcastle and Sunderland charged by FA

The Football Association has charged Newcastle and Sunderland with failing to control their players during Sunday's Tyne and Wear derby.
In a typically feisty North East derby, Newcastle rescued a point thanks to a late goal from Shola Ameobi.
But it was an incident in the 19th minute that caught the eye of the FA. A challenge by James McClean on Newcastle's Danny Simpson led to a melee and the two clubs have been charged.
A statement on the FA's website read: "Newcastle United and Sunderland have both been charged with misconduct following the match between the two sides on Sunday 4 March 2012.
"The charge is that the clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour and is in relation to an incident which occurred in the 19th minute following a challenge by Sunderland's James McClean on Newcastle's Danny Simpson.
"Both clubs have until 4pm on 12 March 2012 to respond to the charge."
