Flamini eyes Prem return MATHIEU FLAMINI is seriously considering a return to England as he feels he has unfinished business in the Premier League. The former Arsenal midfielder is out of contract at AC Milan but has been offered a new deal.
Yet Flamini, 29, who has been at the San Siro since 2008, is eyeing a move back to England and has a host of clubs tracking him.
The French star told SunSport: “Milan offered me a contract for two years but I need to take my time and make the right decision.
“I’ve been in Italy for five years, I’ve had a great time and learnt a lot.
“But I miss England and I want to win the Premier League.
“It has a special place in my heart. I like the pace and the physicality of English football and I like that every game is very open.”
Flamini spent four years at Arsenal before his switch to Italy, winning the FA Cup in 2005.
He also appeared in the Gunners’ Champions League final defeat against Barcelona the following year.
And Flamini remains hungry for silverware, having won just one Serie A title in his spell with Milan.
He said: “I want to win trophies. I am a competitor.
“My biggest regret was when I was with Arsenal and we lost the Champions League final against Barcelona.
“As well as the Premier League, I want to win the Champions League.
“When you are a competitor, what you want is to be successful. And to be successful, you want to win trophies.”
He added: “I’ve had some good offers but I want to take my time and decide what direction I will take.
“What’s important is to be in a team which has a good project, good ambitions and abilities.
“I miss the Premier League but other countries are possible, too. I don’t want to close any doors.”
