Official: Milan have loaned out Robinho to Santos for 1 year

Santos have confirmed a loan deal for AC Milan winger Robinho until June 30, 2015, ending months of speculation over his future.

The former Brazil international made 23 appearances in Serie A last season but was deemed surplus to requirements by new coach Pippo Inzaghi.

Consequently, after protracted negotiations over a return to Vila Belmiro, Robinho has now been cleared to rejoin the club at which he started his career.

"Santos is my home," he told the Brazil club's official website. "It's a place in which I feel really good. I hope to repay all of the fans' affection on the field."

Robinho joined the Rossoneri from Manchester City on a four-year deal in the summer of 2010 for a reported ?18 million transfer fee.

Despite an impressive debut season at San Siro, in which he scored 14 Serie A goals,

he struggled for both form and fitness in the following campaigns and it came as a surprise when he signed a contract extension last summer binding him to the Rossoneri until 2016.

However, Robinho has been linked with a return to Santos all summer long and the 30-year-old attacker has finally put pen to paper on a one-year loan agreement with the Brazilian outfit.

Robinho in talks to follow Kaka to Orlando City



Robinho could be set to follow Kaka from AC Milan to Orlando City, his agent has confirmed.

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani stated last week that talks with the MLS club over the Brazilian had taken place, though he warned any potential deal was some way off being agreed.

Compatriot Kaka has already finalised a deal to join the Florida-based side ahead of the 2015 MLS season after spending six months on loan with Sao Paulo,

and the former Manchester City man's representative has now revealed a loan or permanent transfer could be on the cards.

"There has been a formal offer from Orlando City, as confirmed by Adriano Galliani," Marisa Ramos told Globoesporte.

"The two parties are negotiating. If the move does go through, moving to Brazil for six months first is certainly an option.

He couldn't go six months without playing.

"His contract with Milan expires in 2016 and discussions are at initial stages. He could be loaned to Orlando City or even sold. We'll listen to the proposals and see what is to be done."

The 30-year-old Robinho joined Milan from Manchester City in 2010 for an ?18 million fee, but has struggled to secure a starting spot in the past two seasons at San Siro.

Robinho has thanked AC Milan fans for their support during his four years at the club as he nears a reported move to new MLS team Orlando City.

The Brazilian is under contract with the Rossoneri until 2016 but Orlando City - set to make their MLS debut in 2015 - have made no secret of their desire to reunite Robinho with new recruit Kaka in the United States.

They are the latest team to be linked with the 30-year-old and, though a figure with the Serie A side is yet to be agreed, the MLS club’s chief Flavio Augusta da Silva and the player's agent have talked up the move.

The 30-year-old admitted that talks with Orlando City are ongoing, while he also thanked Milan fans in a comment that is set to spark talk of an imminent departure from the Italian giants.

"We do not know yet [where I will go]," Robinho, who won the Serie A title with Milan in 2010-11, told Sky Sport. "We're still deciding. We will choose the best for me and Milan, who have always treated me very well.

"For fans of Milan I can only say thank you for everything."

Robinho has made over 100 appearances for Milan and he has also had spells in Brazil, England and Spain with Santos, Manchester City and Real Madrid respectively.

Galliani concluded that Milan expect to sort out the future of Robinho next week, with several Brazilian clubs and MLS side Orlando City keen on signing the former Real Madrid and Manchester City playmaker.

"There are some offers and more will arrive on Monday," continued Galliani. "We are convinced that we can find a solution."

and interest from Atletico Mineiro, Flamengo and Cruzeiro has all been widely reported in recent weeks.

Although Rodrigues played down the deal being 100 per cent complete, he has revealed that Robinho has lowered wage demands -

initially a sticking point concerning a move - in order to force through a return to his old club.

"Although many Italian outlets have taken for granted the return of Robinho,

I can confirm to you that negotiations are progressing well," the club chief told Santos TV.

"We are doing everything possible to sign the player and he has also lowered his initial demands.

"We have huge hope that the transfer will be complete soon. We hope to give the fans this gift as soon as possible."

Santos look set to see off interest from fellow Brazilian club Flamengo, who confirmed interest in bringing the ex-Real Madrid man on board this year,

and new MLS franchise Orlando City, who were linked with a potential bid earlier this summer to reunite the player with Kaka.
