Tottenham striker Harry Kane wins the Premier League Player of the Month award Tottenham striker Harry Kane has won the Premier League Player of the Month award for the second time in succession.Kane added the February prize to his January gong, and joins former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler, ex-Arsenal talisman Dennis Bergkamp and former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo in picking up back-to-back awards.The 21-year-old is already excited at the prospect of becoming the first player to claim Player of the Month three times running.
And Kane has started March well, scoring both goals in Tottenham’s 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
“To make history would be something very special,” Kane said. “Obviously I’ve scored a couple so far this month.
“Still a few more games to go, so hopefully I’ll get a few more goals and we’ll see what happens, but I’m looking forward to the games ahead.”
Kane did not make his first league start for Spurs until November, but he has scored 16 league goals this season.
“It’s happened quite fast but I’ve always said I had belief in myself. I just waited for the chance, been patient, and being ready to take it, and I think I’ve been able to do that.
“I’ve just loved every minute of playing. I’m enjoying my football so much at the moment playing with my mates, we have a great team and a great squad, and looking forward to the rest of the games.”
