Lee Cattermole: Sunderland midfielder earns five-year deal 
Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole has signed a new five-year contract to keep him at the club until 2021.The Black Cats paid Wigan £6m for Cattermole, 27, in the summer of 2009 and he has since made 147 appearances in all competitions.
"Lee is the controller of the side. He is a motivator, a leader and central to the success of our team," head coach Dick Advocaat said.
"To know that he will be with us for many years to come is very important."
