Stoke City winger Marko Arnautovic handed in a transfer request on Monday afternoon, according to Sky sources.

The Austria international has grown increasingly frustrated with what he sees as a lack of ambition at the bet 365 Stadium, and wants to be able to move on this summer.

In recent weeks, he has been linked with £15m moves to AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and West Ham.

Last summer Everton were one of a number of clubs interested in the 28-year old, who joined Stoke from Werder Bremen four years ago, for the bargain fee of £2m.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has done everything to keep hold of 'Arnie', who signed a lucrative new four-year-deal last summer, keeping him at Stoke until 2020.

The winger is with the Stoke squad on pre-season tour in Switzerland.

One source has indicated that they believe Arnautovic has had his head turned and his heart is no longer in the Potteries.

Stoke winger Marko Arnautovic could face a spell on the sidelines with a suspected knee injury - just hours after handing in a transfer request.

Sky Sports News HQ revealed on Monday that the 28-year-old had expressed a desire to leave the Potters and was the subject of a £15m bid from Premier League rivals West Ham.

Stoke rejected the offer from Hammers and, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Arnautovic started the club's pre-season victory over Swiss side Neuchatel Xamax.

The 28-year-old has expressed a desire to join West Ham this summer and last week handed in a transfer request in a bid to force through a move.

West Ham failed with two bids for Arnautovic, the first at £15m and the second at £20m, before returning with a successful £24m offer.
