Chelsea interested in signing Edin Dzeko from Roma

Chelsea are interested in signing former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko from Roma, according to Sky Italy.

They say Chelsea are prepared to pay ?50m for Dzeko and his team-mate Emerson Palmieri, who plays left-back.

Chelsea would let Roma have Michy Batshuayi on loan as part of the deal but the Italians are also asking for another ?15m.

Dzeko moved to the Italian capital from Manchester City in August 2015.

The 31-year-old has scored 12 goals for Roma this season, including a double against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League in their 3-3 draw in October.

He won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup during his spell with Manchester City.

Emerson Palmieri: Chelsea sign Roma full-back for reported £17.6m

Chelsea have signed defender Emerson Palmieri from Serie A side Roma for a reported £17.6m.

The Brazil-born 23-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Premier League club.

After playing 36 times for Roma last year he missed the first three months of this season with a knee injury which has limited him to two appearances.

"Today I am realising one of my dreams to pull on the shirt of such a great club," he said.

"English football is something I have been watching since I was 15 years old. It is a really beautiful game over here."

Described as a versatile left-sided player, Palmieri joined Roma from Brazil side Santos in December 2016.

A deal that could send Emerson Palmieri from Roma to Chelsea is close.
The agreement for the player will likely be around 20 million euro plus 6 million in bonuses.
