The agent of Bordeaux winger Malcom says his client wants to move to Italy, and that Roma are "very interested".

The 21-year-old has attracted the interest of a number of clubs in the Premier League in recent months.

But his agent Fernando Garcia told Italian radio station Tele Radio Stereo: "The player would like to come to Italy and Roma are very interested.

"In the next few hours, I will have a word with Monchi (Roma's director of football)."

As well as Roma, Inter Milan are also keen on signing Malcom, according to Sky Italy.

Bordeaux refused to sell the Brazilian in the January transfer window, but he told Brazilian outlet UOL in February that he had agreed with the French side that he could leave this summer.

Malcom joined Bordeaux from Brazilian side Corinthians in January 2016, and has gone on to score 23 goals in 96 games for the Ligue 1 side.

Roma continue pursuit of Malcom: the latest

Brazilian players have emerged as protagonists in Roma's transfer market in the last few hours. After parting ways with Alisson and being close to loan out Gerson to Fiorentina, the Giallorossi have in fact targeted another Brazilian player: Bordeaux's winger Malcom. Roma's board has made contact for the winger in order to keep pace with Everton, the front runner in the race to the former Corinthians winger.

Inter also targeted Malcom in the past few weeks but now the Nerazzurri seem to have cooled their interest in signing him and now it looks like Roma's sporting director Monchi is determined to make an attempt to bring the winger at the Olimpico.

After cashing in on Alisson, Roma seem willing to reinvest part of the profit on a winger. The first name on Monchi's list is that of Bordeaux's Malcom, also chased by Inter and especially Everton. Giallorossi's representatives are currently in a meeting with Malcom's agents and the intermediaries of the negotiation. The Italian club seems set to submit an official offer for the 21-year-old, who is considered one of the best prospects in Europe in that position.
