Lampard, who had to deal with a transfer ban after being appointed as manager last summer, is keen to revamp his attack. Chelsea are set to part company with Pedro Rodríguez, who is joining Roma on a free transfer, while Willian is another veteran whose contract runs out at the end of the season. While Lampard wants Willian to stay, the 31-year-old Brazilian winger’s hopes of a new three-year deal look slim and there is an expectation that he could end up joining Arsenal on a free.

Chelsea are the only club in the running for Havertz, who has been offered a five-year deal, and they are also on the hunt for a replacement for Arrizabalaga. Lampard does not trust the Spaniard and delivered a high-profile snub after replacing him with Willy Caballero against Wolves.

However it will not be easy for Chelsea, who have targeted Ajax’s Andre Onana and Atlético Madrid’s Jan Oblak, to shift Arrizabalaga after making him the world’s most expensive goalkeeper when they bought him for £71.6m two years. While Valencia and Sevilla have shown an interest in the 25-year-old, it remains to be seen if they could afford him. Chelsea may end up covering a portion of his wages if they loan him out.

- Bayer asked for ?100m, Chelsea always wanted to offer ?80m add ons included.
- No official bid on the table but Chelsea and Bayer are now in talks. Still no agreement.
- Kai is pushing to leave Bayer.

Talks still on with Bayer Leverkusen. Chelsea hope to find an agremeent around ?80m as final fee after Europa League.
Bayern would be in the race just for summer 2021 if Havertz will not leave now (so difficult...).  #CFC

Kai Havertz wants to join Chelsea.
Last time he signed a contract in Leverkusen he was given more money to keep him happy. There was no clause or an extension to his contract.
The plan was always to sell when the “right offer came in”

Chelsea and Havertz have agreed the personal terms.
