Jordan enters basketball's Hall of Fame
Bulls legend Michael Jordan, basketball’s greatest player ever, was among a class of five enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Sept. 11. The Class of 2009, which also included Jerry Sloan, John Stockton, C. Vivian Stringer and David Robinson, was inducted during festivities in Springfield, MA.

Pippen’s Number 33 Retired
Honoring 33: Throughout his career, Scottie Pippen was often overshadowed by his seemingly immortal teammate, Michael Jordan. That wasn't the case on 12.09.06, though, as Pippen, Jordan and several others gathered to see his number 33 retired. Bulls.com met with Pippen, one of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players of All-Time, to discuss his accolade-filled career, his future and more.

Bulls honor Johnny "Red" Kerr
Longtime team broadcaster Johnny “Red” Kerr was honored for his career achievements and 35 years of service to the Bulls organization during a halftime ceremony on Feb. 10, 2009. Kerr, a native of Chicago, was part of the Bulls organization in various capacities for 35 of the franchise’s 43 seasons, most notably as a team broadcaster for more than 30 years.

Bulls great Norm Van Lier | 1947 - 2009
"Norm Van Lier was one of the all-time greats ever to put on a Chicago Bulls uniform,” said Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf of Van Lier's passing on Feb. 26, 2009. “Along with Jerry Sloan, he set a standard for Bulls defense and toughness which we will never forget and which we will always strive to replicate."

Opened on March 28, 1929, the Chicago Stadium served as the home of the Chicago Bulls (1967-1994) and the Chicago Blackhawks (1929-1994) through the end of their respective seasons in 1994.

Bulls Six Titles a Gold Standard
For Bulls fans, the bridge between the 1980s and 1990s is the unforgettable 1991 NBA Finals, when, somewhere in the second half of Game 5 versus the L.A. Of course, Michael Jordan would be in attendance. Why wouldn’t he be? This wasn’t just any regular season game. It was Scottie Pippen Night, complete with a halftime ceremony during which Pip’s number “33” would become only the fourth jersey ever retired by the Chicago Bulls.

Recent Bulls Draft History
•Draft Central 2007: With the 9th pick, the Bulls selected Joakim Noah, a 6-11, 232-pound standout and two-time national champion at the University of Florida, then added Aaron Gray (No. 49 overall) and JamesOn Curry (No. 51 overall) in the second round.
•Draft Central 2006: Armed with a pair of draft picks, Chicago made two deals and ended up with a trio of players: Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefolosha and Viktor Khryapa.
•Draft Central 2004: The Bulls selected guard Ben Gordon with the 3rd overall pick, then traded for forward Luol Deng, the Draft's 7th overall selection.
•Draft Central 2003: Chicago selected guard Kirk Hinrich with the 7th overall pick in NBA Draft 2003.
•Draft Central 2002: The Bulls selected guard Jay Williams with the 2nd pick in NBA Draft 2002.
•Draft Central 2001: Besides acquiring the rights to No. 2 pick Tyson Chandler and Brian Skinner in a trade with the Clippers for Elton Brand, the Bulls also selected center Eddy Curry at No. 4.
•Summer League 2007: Joakim Noah sat out due to a shoulder injury, but sophomores Tyrus Thomas (16.0 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 4.7 bpg) and Thabo Sefolosha (15.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 2.8 apg) impressed.
•Summer League 2006: Rookies Tyrus Thomas (16.2 ppg and 7.0 rpg) and Thabo Sefolosha (16.0 ppg and 3.5 spg) made their debuts.
Summer League 2004: Ben Gordon (13.5 ppg) and RMR first teamer Luol Deng (15.4 ppg and 5.3 rpg) led the way as the Bulls went 6-1.
•Summer League 2003: Lonny Baxter earned tourney MVP honors and Kirk Hinrich made his pro debut as the Bulls finished with a RMR best 5-1 record.
•Summer League 2002: Jay Williams led the Bulls with 15.4 ppg and Eddy Curry averaged 14.0 ppg but Chicago struggled, ending up with a 2-4 record in RMR play.
•Summer League 2001: Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry's summer league squad played in two leagues, finishing with 2-4 at the RMR and 2-9 overall.

Growing Up in the 1980s
