GETTING STARTED
PICKING YOUR SQUAD:
To create a team, you need to select a squad of 15 players consisting of:
2 GOALKEEPERS
5 DEFENDERS
5 MIDFIELDERS
3 FORWARDS
Of the 15 players, you can select 11 players in the starting line-up and four on your bench. A default captain will be picked for you, which you can then change on the captain selection screen.
BUDGET
The total value of your initial squad must not exceed ?100 million. This will increase ?105 million for the knockout stages.
PLAYER VALUATION
All players that are a part of the final player listing will be valued before the start of the tournament based on available data.
Original player prices will remain the same until the group stage (Round 3). Upon completion of the group stage, player prices will change depending on performances.
PLAYERS PER TEAM:
You can select up to three players from a single team during the group stage. This will increase to four players for the Round of 16, followed by five for the quarter-finals, six for the semi-finals and eight for the final of the World Cup.
MANAGING YOUR TEAM
PICKING YOUR STARTING 11:
From your 15-player squad, select 11 players as per one of the valid formations before the Round deadline.
All your points for the Round will be scored by these 11 players; if one or more players don't play, then they may be automatically substituted with the players on the bench.

CAPTAIN SELECTION:
From your starting 11, you must select a player as a captain whose score will be doubled at the end of each Round.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
MANAGER SUBSTITUTIONS WITHIN A ROUND:
After all matches on a single day have finished and before the next Round of matches start, you can:
Replace any player (unless they were sent off) with one from your bench whose team is yet to play.
Change your captain (if he was not sent off) with a player from your squad whose team is yet to play.
Players who are substituted out will score 0 points. The captain bonus will be lost from your original captain if a new captain is selected. Substitutions and captain changes can't be cancelled once confirmed.
An unlimited number of manager substitutions can be made, although it is not possible to make them after games on the last day of the Round as all fixtures will have been completed.
If a manager substitution or captain change is made, then no automatic substitutions will take place in your team for that Round.
AUTOMATIC SUBSTITUTIONS WITHIN A ROUND:
If no manager substitutions or captain changes are made, automatic substitutions will take place at the end of the Round, after all fixtures for that Round have been completed.
If your goalkeeper plays no part in the Round, then your replacement goalkeeper will be substituted in, if he played in that Round.
If any of your outfield players play no part in a Round, then the game will substitute the inactive player for one of your replacements. This is done by replacing them with your highest priority substitute who did play, and doesn't break the formation rules (e.g. if your starting team has three defenders, a defender can only be replaced by another defender). You can change your substitution priorities on the 'My Team' page.
MAKING TRANSFERS:
You can make unlimited transfers at no cost until your first-round deadline, and between group and knockout stages. However once Round 1 ends, there are limited transfers between rounds.
Details of free transfers are mentioned below:

You are deducted four points from your overall points for every transfer you make above the available free transfers for a round. Your round and phase points will not be affected by this deduction.
Any unused transfers will be forfeited in the next round.
WILDCARD:
Activating your Wild Card allows you to make unlimited transfers for a Round. It must be played prior to the start of the respective Round and it can be used only once during the tournament.
If you wish to play your wildcard you must make at least one additional transfer than the allotted free trasnfers for the wildcard button to be enabled.
BOOSTERS:
MAXIMUM CAPTAIN
This booster automatically makes the highest scoring player from your final playing 11 as the captain. This booster must be played prior to the start of the respective Round and it can be used only once during the tournament.
BENCH BOOST
The points of all 15 players are counted for the Round in which this booster has been played. This card must be played prior to the start of the respective Round and it can be used only once during the tournament.

Deadlines are subject to change and will be at the time of kick-off of the first match of the round. Tentative deadlines below

*The final round consist of both the third place play-off and the final match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™.
Once a round is over and points have been finalised (points will be finalised one hour after the final match(es) of the day are completed), you may navigate to the selected round. You can then see the points tally for that particular round. It will also show which players, if any, have automatically been substituted from the bench.
You can modify your squad throughout the season in the transfer market in accordance with the limitations set out in the above table for each round. You will also be entitled to one wildcard, which will allow you to make unlimited transfers for a round. The wildcard must be played prior to the start of the respective round and can be used only once during the tournament.

Users that finish in first, second and third position for a round will receive the respective round’s prize. (See the prizes page for full details). A user can only win one (1) round prize for the duration of the game. If a user who has already won a round prize finishes in the top 3 for another round they will be ineligible for that second prize and such a prize will be awarded to the next best user in the rankings. A user can, however, win both one round prize and one overall prize for McDonald's FIFA World Cup Fantasy.
SCORING
During the tournament, your selected players will be allocated points in real time based on their match performances. Criteria for scoring include:

Note: Events occurring within extra time are counted, but penalty shoot-outs do not.
CLEAN SHEETS:
A clean sheet is awarded for not conceding a goal whilst on the pitch and playing at least 60 minutes.
RED CARDS:
If a player receives a red card, they will continue to be penalised for goals conceded by their team.
Red card deductions include any points deducted for yellow cards.
LEAGUES:
PUBLIC LEAGUES:
Every user is automatically entered into the following leagues:
The overall league comprising all registered McDonald's FIFA World Cup Fantasy users;
A league for fellow users from your country of residence; and
A league of users who support the same country as you.
PRIVATE LEAGUES:
Users can create private leagues and then send out a unique code/link to allow their friends to join.
League owners can choose to suspend users from their leagues. Suspended users can only rejoin the leagues they are suspended from after approval of league owners.
There will be no limit on the number of users allowed to join a private league as there will be no Live leaderboard.
Users can create a maximum of 20 private league. However, there is no limit on how many private leagues they can be a part of.
LEADERBOARD SCORING:
There will be no Live leaderboard for private or public leagues.
The points and ranks of users within the leagues would be updated after the points calculation of the final game on a particular day.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
All achievements concerning players, will be considered among the entire squad and not just the starting XI.
READY FOR FOOTBALL
This achievement will be unlocked when the user successfully completes their onboarding process.
ON TARGET
This achievement will be unlocked the first time a player from your team scores a goal.
SAFE HANDS
This achievement will be unlocked when your keeper makes at least six saves in the round.
CLEAN SHEET SENSATION
This achievement will be unlocked the first time a defender/goalkeeper keeps a clean sheet.
YOU HAVE HEAT
This achievement will be unlocked the first time the top scoring player of a Round is present in your team.
WILDCARD PLAYED
This achievement will be unlocked the first time you use your wildcard.
DOUBLE BOOST
This achievement will be unlocked when you use both of your boosters.
100 CLUB
This achievement will be unlocked If your teams scores over 100 points in a round.
SHOW STOPPER
This achievement will be unlocked If the goalkeeper from your team saves a penalty.
FAIRPLAY AMBASSADOR
This achievement will be unlocked no player from the squad receives a card for the round.
TRENDING TEAM
This achievement will be unlocked when a user shares his teams points across on any 1 social network.
LEAGUE CREATOR
This achievement will be unlocked When a user creates a private league.
