Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann says he has made a final decision about his future but has refused to reveal where he will be playing next season.

Griezmann, a former target for Manchester United, has been strongly linked with Barcelona this summer after scoring 29 goals in 49 games for Atletico last season.

The 27-year-old called a press conference while on international duty with France on Tuesday but refused to confirm if he will move clubs this summer or remain at the Wanda Metropolitano.

"Today is not the day to talk about my future," he said. "Yes, I have already made a decision about my future. But I'm not going to speak about it today.

"It's not the time or the place."

Griezmann had previously hinted that his future would be sorted before the start of the World Cup and Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes the French striker is at risk of angering fans with his lack of clarity.

"Whichever way, Antoine Griezmann will win because he will go to a top team," said Balague.

"But it's surprising and it's leaving a bad image and a bad taste in the mouth the way he's going about it.

"He promised that everything would be sorted before the World Cup, it's not going to be the case. Remember from the first of July his buyout is ?100m (£88m).

"He did it the previous summer where he wanted to go to Manchester United, everything was agreed, decided to stay, so we're going to have to wait for his decision."

L’Équipe report that Antoine Griezmann is more likely to remain at Atletico Madrid for another season than move to Barcelona this summer.

Griezmann has been weighing up the idea of moving to a side where he is not even guaranteed playing time vs. a side where he is the star.
The Frenchman wanted guarantees from Atleti about improving the squad so that is capable once again of competing in the Champions’ League, and the imminent signing of Thomas Lemar is a strong sign in his eyes.

Despite he decision not to reveal his club for next season in yesterday’s France press conference, the newspaper believes that while the door remains open to Barcelona at this hour, it is rapidly closing.

Antoine Griezmann: Atletico Madrid forward to stay at La Liga club



Antoine Griezmann, a target for Barcelona, has announced he will stay at Atletico Madrid on a television documentary called 'La Decision'.

The forward, 27, said he wanted to clarify his future before France's World Cup opener against Australia on Saturday.

Griezmann joined Atletico from Real Sociedad in 2014 and has scored 112 goals in all competitions for the club.

"I have decided to stay," he said at the end of the Spanish programme.

In May, Atletico said they were "fed up" with Barcelona over their pursuit of the player, after president Josep Maria Bartomeu said he met with Griezmann's agent earlier this season.

Atletico reported Barcelona to Fifa over an alleged illegal approach for the Frenchman in December.

Griezmann, who is under contract until 2022, tweeted "my fans, my team, my home" after the decision.

His announcement copied NBA star LeBron James' method of announcing his move from Cleveland to Miami in 2010, also on a television show called The Decision.

Last summer, he extended his contract by a year and agreed to stay with the club despite a transfer ban, after saying there was a "6/10" chance he could move to Manchester United.

On Tuesday, Atletico said they had reached a "preliminary agreement" to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.

馬德里體育會CEO基爾在體育總監貝達的陪同下，周一特地飛到俄羅斯，目的是跟3名正在出戰世界盃決賽周的法國國腳簽下合約。

首先，馬體會跟早前宣佈留隊的射手基沙文（Antoine Griezmann）續約至2023年。至於後衛盧卡斯靴南迪斯亦加簽了2季，新合約將會令他留在馬體會直至2024年。

除了跟2名原有球員續約之外，基爾亦跟摩納哥翼鋒湯馬士林馬（Thomas Lemar）率先簽下合約。雖然22歲的湯馬士林馬仍然未通過體測，而且轉會手續未辦妥，但馬體會與摩納哥已經達成共識，有傳轉會費高達7200萬歐元。
