The blaugrana have an optimal opportunity to quickly close a deal for the player and steal him away from Inter. The negotiations are going well and the parties are all very close. At the moment it looks like Arturo Vidal's future is close to La Liga.

Barcelona have completed the signing of Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich after agreeing personal terms with the Chile midfielder over a £27m transfer.

The 31-year-old, who moved to Germany in 2015 from Juventus for £32m, met Barça officials last week and passed his medical after being granted permission to leave by the new Bayern manager, Niko Kovac.

Barcelona have already spent more than £100m this summer on deals for the French defender Clément Lenglet and the Brazilian pair Arthur and Malcom and had been in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a move for Adrien Rabiot. But the French champions’ unwillingness to allow the 23-year-old to leave Parc des Princes led to them turning their attention to Vidal.

Internazionale had been seen as the frontrunners for his signature but have now made an ambitious approach to sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid.

Barcelona agree deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Vidal
Barcelona have reached an agreement to sign Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich.

The Chile midfielder has agreed a three-year contract at the Nou Camp and will undergo a medical in the coming days, the Spanish champions announced on their website.

Vidal joined Bayern from Juventus in 2015 and won the Bundesliga title in each of his three seasons at the club.

Neither club have announced a transfer fee for the 31-year-old – who was under contract at Bayern until June 30, 2019 – but reports in Spain suggest Barca will pay in the region of 20 millions euros (£18m).
