Danny Welbeck looks set to leave Arsenal for free next summer By Sky Sports News Last Updated: 05/12/18 11:38am
Danny Welbeck may have already played his last game for Arsenal, with the forward looking likely to join Aaron Ramsey in leaving on a free transfer next summer. Sky Sports News understands the Gunners currently have no plans to offer Welbeck a new contract, and his current deal expires in June 2019. With the 28-year-old out with a long-term ankle injury, which required two rounds of surgery in November, any future appearances in the Arsenal first team, even this season, are therefore in doubt. Welbeck joined Arsenal in a £15m deal from Manchester United in 2014 and has made 126 appearances for the north London club.
Everton are leading the race to sign Danny Welbeck on a free transfer this summer. Several other clubs are in the frame and a decision is not expected before the EL final but Everton in pole position now

Danny Welbeck: Watford in talks to sign former Arsenal and Manchester United forward By Blake Welton Last Updated: 07/08/19 1:08pm
Watford are in talks to sign former Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck on a free transfer, Sky Sports News understands.
The 28-year-old England player was not offered a new contract by the Gunners this summer, becoming a free agent after enduring an injury-hit spell at the Emirates.
Welbeck only managed 126 appearances after joining on a five-year deal from Manchester United in 2014 and has been out since November with a serious ankle injury picked up against Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League.
Any deal is not subject to the same time-constraints as those involving two clubs as free transfers can be completed after Thursday's 5pm deadline.
Meanwhile, discussions over Ismaila Sarr's move from Rennes continue over the fee and other details and, if completed, should be a club-record signing.
Danny Welbeck: Former Arsenal striker joins Watford By Simon Stone
BBC Sport Watford have completed the signing of out-of-contract England striker Danny Welbeck.
Welbeck, 28, left Arsenal in June after five years at the club.
The Hornets believe Welbeck, who has 42 England caps and was part of Gareth Southgate's 2018 World Cup squad, can have a major impact providing he can stay fit.
He was restricted to 14 appearances for Arsenal last season after signing from Manchester United in 2014.
The Manchester-born forward did not play after suffering an ankle injury during a Europa League game against Sporting Lisbon in November.
Welbeck also made 142 appearances in six years at Manchester United, winning the Premier League title in 2013, before joining Arsenal for £16m where he scored 16 times.
