Former Real Madrid star Guti announces intention to continue career in Asia
The ex-Spain international has revealed that his playing career in Europe has come to an end, but intends to branch out to the Asian continent as his next port of call
Former Real Madrid midfielder Guti has confirmed that his career in European football has reached its conclusion and is now eyeing up an adventure in Asia.
The 35-year-old was reportedly closing in on a return to La Liga after leaving Besiktas earlier in November, but revealed via his Twitter account of his aspirations to play for an Asian club.
"I want to clarify that I am retiring from Spain and Europe," he tweeted. "If I continue playing, it will be in Asia, which is what I dream of. I want to go to Asia and learn new cultures."
Guti is best known for his glittering 15-year spell at Real Madrid, where he notched up over 400 appearances for the Blancos and lifted numerous trophies.
