Confusion over Bale injury Gareth Bale could still be set for a spell on the sidelines with an ankle knock - despite comments to the contrary by the star himself. The Tottenham winger had to be substituted at half time in Wales' World Cup qualifier against Scotland at Hampden Park after going down holding his ankle.
That gave rise to fears that the 23-year-old would miss his country's match with Serbia on Tuesday and maybe even some of Tottenham's games in the season run-in.
Bale appeared to calm those fears when he took to Twitter after the game, saying: "Nothing wrong with my ankle. I came off due to the stomach virus. Should be OK for Tuesday."
However, Wales boss Chris Coleman appeared to contradict those claims after the game and says Bale may well be absent on Tuesday.
"
He [Bale] looked a little bit heavier tonight, which you understand because he's had a tough week. He's not trained; had half a session yesterday, been ill and bad ankle," said Coleman.
"And then he had a crack on his ankle, which he was feeling so we couldn't take the risk and that's why we brought him off.
"It won't be easy, it'll be a toughie [to get him fit] but we've got 72 hours or there or thereabouts to try and get him back and see what he's like. But we'll see."
不過教練無咁樂觀……
