Brazilian heads to Russia, as Rudy arrives to take his place
Russian champions Rubin Kazan have spent big to lure Carlos Eduardo away from Hoffenheim.
The Brazilian playmaker has penned a four-year contract with his new employers, who have moved quickly to bolster their attacking ranks.
Having offloaded Alexander Bukharov and Sergei Semak to rivals Zenit St Petersburg, Rubin have wasted no time in swooping for 23-year-old Eduardo.
Details of the deal have not been disclosed, but reports suggest a ?20million (£16.4m) fee has changed hands.
Eduardo, who began his career in his homeland with Gremio, moves to Russia after three productive years in Germany, during which time he broke into the Brazil national side.
While disappointed to have parted with Eduardo, Hoffenheim have already lined up a replacement.
Potential
Germany U21 international midfielder Sebastian Rudy has been acquired from Stuttgart for a reported £3million.
He has signed a four-year contract and has already passed a medical with the club.
Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner is delighted to have struck a deal and feels the 20-year-old has the potential to be an instant hit at the Rhein Neckar Arena.
"We are happy to see Sebastian join us, he is a player we have been looking at for some time," Tanner told the club's official website.
"He is fitting right in and I think he will be a good part of our team."
