Manchester United have extended the contracts of Daley Blind and Ashley Young until 2019, after exercising options in their contracts.Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who is on loan at Aston Villa, has also had his deal extended by 12 months after United took up an option in his contract.
All three players' deals were due to expire at the end of the season, but will now run until the summer of 2019.Blind, Young and Johnstone are just the latest in a line of players whose contracts have been extended by United.
Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw and Juan Mata were all set to be free agents at the end of the current campaign, but are now contracted to Old Trafford until 2019.
Marouane Fellaini, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Michael Carrick are the three players in Jose Mourinho's squad whose deals are still due to end in the summer of 2018.
Carrick is retiring at the end of the season to join the club's coaching staff, whereas Fellaini and Ibrahimovic are currently free to negotiate moves to foreign clubs.
Blind has played only 15 times for United this season, whereas Young has made 26 appearances for the Premier League's second-placed side.
Johnstone has been a regular on loan at Villa Park, conceding just 32 goals in 34 appearances as Steve Bruce's side chase a return to the Premier League.
