Mohamed Salah, Chris Hughton and Victor Wanyama win February awardsLast Updated: 09/03/18 11:45am
Mohamed Salah has been named the Premier League's Player of the Month for February, while Chris Hughton has won the manager's award. Salah scored four goals and added two assists in three Premier League games as Liverpool went unbeaten throughout the month. The former Chelsea winger has now scored 32 goals in all competitions for Liverpool since making his move from Roma last summer. Brighton manager Hughton oversaw comprehensive wins against West Ham and Swansea at home, as well as a draw away at Stoke, to steer the club away from the relegation zone. Hughton has since masterminded a win over Arsenal last weekend to take Brighton to 10th in the Premier League, 11 points clear of the drop.
Wanyama's prize came after his jaw-dropping half-volley into the top corner which drew Tottenham level at 1-1 against Liverpool last month to trigger a breathtaking end to the game.
Harry Kane then missed a penalty for Spurs before Salah sensationally put Liverpool in front in injury time with an exquisite solo effort. That looked the end of the drama, but Spurs won a second penalty with their final attack when Virgil van Dijk fouled Erik Lamela in the box, which Kane put away.
Up against some tough competition, including Eden Hazard's brilliant effort against Watford and Mario Lemina's thunderbolt against West Brom at The Hawthorns, Wanyama emerged victorious.
