Leonardo Ulloa is close to joining Brighton on a loan deal from Leicester, say Sky sources. Ulloa has 18 months remaining on his current deal at the King Power stadium after he signed a two-year contract extension in the summer, just seven months after handing in a transfer request.
The 31-year-old had looked certain to leave Leicester last January following a falling out with former boss Claudio Ranieri, who he claimed reneged on a promise to allow him to leave in that window. If the deal is completed it will be Ulloa's second spell at the Amex - he joined the club in 2013 for an 18-month stint, scoring 23 goals in 47 appearances as he helped guide the Seagulls to the Championship play-offs.
Claude Puel left Ulloa out of his squad for Leicester's 5-1 win over Peterborough in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday - his last appearance for the Foxes was on December 26 in a 2-1 defeat to Watford. Leicester's newest signing Fousseni Diabate, who arrived from Gazelec Ajaccio earlier this month, scored twice on his debut as they progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Sky Sports News understands forward Ahmed Musa is due to undergo a medical ahead of a return to former club CSKA Moscow on loan for the rest of the season.
