Chelsea have completed a deal to sign Torino right-back Davide Zappacosta.
The 25-year old has agreed a four-year contract to move to Stamford Bridge for a reported £23m, plus add-ons, where he will link up again with Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte - who selected the defender for Italy in 2016.He landed in the UK on Thursday evening to complete his move as the clock on Deadline Day ticked down.
Zappacosta, who has made four international appearances for his country, joined Torino from Atalanta in 2015, where he has since featured in 58 Serie A games.
Chelsea boss Conte has been in the market for a right-sided player this summer, with bids being rejected for Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Bayern Munich's Rafinha.
In Zappacosta, Conte will have a player renowned for featuring in the right-wing-back position, a role he has utilised successfully in his 3-4-3 formation since arriving at Chelsea last summer.
Zappacosta told the Chelsea website: 'It is a dream for me to join Chelsea and play in the Premier League.
"I am very excited to be here and start working with the team. I hope I can show my quality to the coach, my team-mates and the supporters."
Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo said: "Davide is a player of international calibre who Antonio Conte knows well and we have been aware of for some time.
"We are very pleased to be able to bring him to the club and believe he will become an important member of the squad."
