Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi is due to have a medical at Stoke on Wednesday after the clubs agreed a deal, according to Sky sources.

We understand the fee could rise to £13.4m for the Dutchman.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at the Britannia stadium, making 37 appearances as the club finished 13th in the Premier League table.

Martins Indi began his career at Feyenoord before moving to Porto in July 2014.

Crystal Palace have agreed a deal to sign Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi, Sky sources understand.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Martins Indi will head to Selhurst Park subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

Martins Indi spent last season on loan at Stoke City and had been expected to return to the Potteries on a permanent deal.

He was nearly ever present for Mark Hughes' side, playing in 35 Premier League games and scoring a single goal.

But their option to sign him expired on July 1 and the Netherlands international now seems set to join fellow Dutchman Ronald de Boer, who is now in charge at Selhurst Park.

Martins Indi has one year left on his contract at Porto.

PALACE SWOOP FOR MARTINS INDI

Crystal Palace have agreed a deal in principle to sign Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi, according to Sky sources.

The deal for the Netherlands international is subject to the passing of a medical and agreeing personal terms.

Martins Indi spent last season on loan at Stoke City, who were hopeful of signing him again, but their option to sign him permanently expired on July 1.

Martins Indi has one year left on his contract at Porto.

Stoke City are close to completing the signing of defender Bruno Martins Indi from Porto in a cut-price deal, according to Sky sources.

The Potters had the option to sign him for a fee rising to £13.4m as part of last season's loan deal and he was expected to have a medical with the club last month.

But Stoke pulled out of the deal because they were not prepared to meet Porto's demands, according to Sky sources, and Crystal Palace moved in with an attempt to bring the 25-year-old centre-back to Selhurst Park.

Palace agreed a separate deal with Porto but Martins Indi never arrived at Palace for a scheduled medical either, and Stoke have since returned with new offer of around £7.52m.

The player is due back at Stoke to complete the deal over the next few days.

Martins Indi made 37 appearances including 35 in the Premier League for Stoke while on loan last term. He also scored once.

Sky Sources understand Stoke City should complete the signing of defender Bruno Martins Indi within the next 24 hours.

The defender is due to fly to England tomorrow morning to complete his medical and the formalities of his contract.

The fee agreed with Porto is understood to be £7m.

And it seems the deal for Bruno Martins Indi could spell the end for Marc Muniesa.

Sky sources understand the defender is travelling to Spain tomorrow to finalise a move to Girona.

He said his goodbyes to Stoke team-mates today and should complete the transfer before the weekend.
